Internet Marketing Training: Why Use It?

It’s hard to do a job or run a business well without the proper training.  Certainly, some people have a knack for specific things, but training is almost always a must.  It’s not common for anyone to be able to just start doing something and become a success without some education and knowledge.

This applies especially to Internet marketing, which is a relatively new and ever changing field.  Every time technology changes, the playing field changes, too. Many are of the opinion that Internet marketing training is well worth the investment of time and money it takes.

What types of things does someone learn when they go through Internet marketing training?  Depending on the program, they would learn the basics, which would include search engine optimization, article marketing, creating an effective website or page, social networking and marketing, and how to successfully choose a niche.

Above and beyond that, Internet marketing training may include learning about things like Google AdWords campaigns, and how to use AdSense to create a stream of income, creating your own info products such as eBooks, using podcasts and video to create more website traffic and more business and more.

Internet marketing training can cover a lot of ground and can be very helpful to both someone who is completely new to Internet marketing and to someone who has been in the business for awhile.  As with everything though, just make sure you know what you’re getting before you pay your money!

How to Make an eBook for Sale Online

One of the simplest ways to get into business online is to write a hot niche eBook to make for sale.  Internet marketers have made fortunes on this simple fact – people will pay you for information if it solves a desperate need for them.

First, you’ll want to find the niche to write about.  It may be that you’re an expert in some subject that others will pay good money to know, such as how to get your baby to sleep all night or how to use indicators in the Forex market.  It doesn’t matter that there are already dozens of books on the subject.  Just write it from your own perspective.

Next, write your research up in a word processor like Microsoft Word.  You may find it easier to start with your chapter headings and then flesh them out.  There are lots of places to get advice on how to do this but I like to make the first paragraph of every chapter a summary of the whole chapter – and then flesh out each individual sentence of the first paragraph into a subsequent paragraph of its own.

Take time to set your writing out properly.  It can be simple or you can take the time to format it so that it looks neat and classy.  Just remember that it will represent your brand so do a good job putting it all together.  Above all, your work must be easy to read.  Ariel 12pt double spaced works well in most browsers (all the popular ones) and it can be read easily onscreen.

Once you’ve finished writing, you will need to publish your work in PDF format.  This used to be a lot harder than it is now.  Word 2007 has the facility to publish directly into PDF through a free plug-in available from Word.  Adobe also offers an online service for converting your Word doc to PDF.  And if you have a PDF printer on your PC like PDF Printer or Adobe Acrobat, just choose to print to PDF in your printer drop down box.

Next you will need to have a sales page where you tell about your eBook, which ultimately has a PayPal or other type of order button.  I recommend using secure automated delivery services like SmartDD or Download Guard, which collect the payment and prevent theft.

Don’t make selling an eBook harder than it is – just get the product up and running so you can start driving traffic to it!

PLR Membership Sites – Money Well Spent or Just Spent?

PLR content is “Private Label Content”.  This means that you buy content that was written by someone else and use it as if you had written it yourself.  And PLR content is available all over the web and one particular source is through PLR Membership sites.  These sites compile new content PLR, maybe articles, maybe whole products, on a regular basis and you pay a monthly subscription for access.

Assuming you have checked out the quality of the PLR material and it is great quality totally original stuff, membership to a PLR site can be very cost effective in developing your products online.

You can modify the content to suit your needs so that it is more personalized to your niche and your website, and you can claim the content as your own, even put your name as the author.  You also have the right to sell or give away the material to others.

The idea is that you’re adding your own quality content to your blog or website and reinforcing your reputation and increasing your traffic by making your website more attractive to search engines.  There is a very good case for adding valuable content to your own name online.

Plus, PLR memberships are fairly inexpensive when you consider that depending on the site, you can get access to literally hundreds of articles, blurbs and reports that you can use in any way you see fit.

So these are the pros.

What is the downside to a PLR membership site?  Well, you do have to pay for it, and you do have to use it – every month.  And if you don’t use it once you’ve paid your membership fee – you’ve wasted money.

And it is best not to use PLR “as is” – no matter how exclusive the PLR site, you will ALWAYS be up against some competition if you leave the material totally unaltered.

Otherwise, your content will just become someone else’s duplicate content and that doesn’t look good to the search engines.  So you still have to put some time and energy into it, or money if you’re paying someone to re-write it for you.

And it can be very time consuming to alter the PLR, even if it is just re-writing and tweaking.

So, is a PLR membership site worth it?  You’re the only person who can answer that.

If you choose to use PLR, make sure it’s of the best quality and that you’re prepared to “make it your own”.

Niche Marketing Is A Cost-Effective Advertising Option

Niche marketing is a very cost effective way to make a living online.  It will cost you far more to try to break into a more general niche that has high competition such as “weight loss” as opposed to capturing a smaller demographic like “weight loss for menopausal women.”

Broad niches like weight loss can be easily broken down and still have a very large piece of the profit pie.  While you could still go after the broader category, you will pay more for the PPC advertising than with the “lower hanging fruit” of more targeted niches.

These more targeted niches are based on “long tail” keyword phrases, as they are sometimes called.  These have somewhat less organic searches but also have fewer competitors.  And this keeps the PPC costs down.

It’s the same when you do article marketing – you will more than likely get your articles seen in the SERPs when you use the more targeted long tail keywords.

So, can you still take advantage of the larger niche like weight loss?  Well, of course you can.  But it’s definitely easier if you target the longer tailed keyword search phrases.  Your site can be about weight loss but you may never get organic visitors if you just use “weight loss” as your keyword.

You will have a better chance of getting those visitors to your site by writing articles and buying low competition Adwords for those less searched for terms.  Be content to go for the more targeted niches with the lower competition, at least at first.

Once you get more established and become a “name” in your niche, you can go for the more broad topics.

Make The Most Of Your Master Resale Rights Purchases

Master Resale Rights products can be the perfect answer for the Internet marketer who wants to get a product on the market fast and build a healthy list of regular buyers.  If you choose a high quality MRR product, it usually comes with a sales letter and images.  All you have to do is to add your order button and your signature to the sales letter, then sell the product according to the license.

MRR products are great because you can turn around and pass on resale rights, which do two things:

1)   you can build your line of quality products and

2)   you can build a list of regular customers.

This second point is a huge plus.  Getting a list of regular paying customers is where your income will begin to soar.  Offering resale rights to quality products to your customers just naturally builds confidence in you as a businessperson.

Just remember to take a good look at the MRR before you buy.  Some MRR products are junk or so outdated that the information in them is not useful.  Think of how you want your own business to look.  Then only buy MRR that reflects that image.  If the MRR report is only $2 but it is junk, then you will have wasted your money.

MRR products are an investment, so read the license before you buy and don’t buy it unless you are comfortable with all you can do with them.  Once you find a good source for MRR products, remember to bookmark the website for future reference!

It’s like having money in the bank!

Why Building a List Is Vital to Niche Marketing Success

Internet marketing is like any other business.  It needs paying customers or there’s no incoming revenue.  Just how an Internet marketer reaches these customers is through various forms of free or paid advertising.

There are two kinds of customers: the new customer and the returning customer.  You need both – but one of them is more valuable to you and is easier to get to buy.  It’s the loyal returning customer.  So how do you get and retain this repeat customer?

In Internet marketing, you attract your new customer by offering something of value to them as an enticement to “try you out.”  Usually, this takes the form of a free report, e-course, or something tangible like a DVD or trial newsletter.  The savvy marketer knows that this “free” offer must be of high quality or you won’t be getting a second chance to make a conversion into a sale.

On a squeeze page or opt-in page, you will offer a freebie, and in return your prospect must give their email address and name.  They are added to your list.  The list is created and maintained with an autoresponder service, which is a database that collects the information and sends your future messages on autopilot for you.  I would always recommend you go with a third party autoresponder service to avoid the nightmares of maintaining a double opt-in list.

Then, once they join your list by trying your free offer, they become a “returning” prospect or customer.  At this point, you will keep up the relationship by offering great information and various affiliate and info product offers.

Treat your customers with respect.  Remember there is a real human being at the end of your email list.  Don’t think of them as a wallet to be picked.  Give them genuine, useful information with the occasional “offer” sprinkled in between.  I have found that one offer with four or five “info-emails” works well.

Do this and you will have a nurture a valuable happy returning customer.

What Kind of PLR Is Available for Internet Marketers?

One of the best “short cuts” available to the Internet marketer is PLR products.  Private Label Rights (PLR) products can be simple, short articles ready to be put on a blog all the way up to a fully written eBook or report with a sales letter and bonus reports.

There are PLR audio, video and even PLR software just ready for you to change up and then make available for resale.  The advantage to PLR is that someone else has done the footwork of putting together a product, saving you precious time.

Then, depending on the license, you can basically do what you want with it.  You should obviously change the author name and redo as much as possible to make it unique.  Go through and do edits, add or subtract to the whole and you have your product ready to sell.

There are really so many ways to use PLR, too, beyond the obvious fix up and resell.  You can take an article pack and make a report or short eBook out of it for sale or as a free bonus.

You can take full reports and break them into articles.  Record an MP3 of yourself reading them and add them as a bonus to a package that you’re selling.  Or, you can read the articles while recording a PowerPoint slide show and you have an instant video!

Using PLR saves you time which is money.  For the person who isn’t confident in his or her own writing skills, PLR is one way to solve the problem.

Work at Home Business – 2 Ways to Get Targeted Traffic to Your Website

Out of all the people I’ve talked to about their work at home business, there has been one thing consistent about all of them and that is the problem of getting traffic to their website. It doesn’t matter how beautiful your website is, if you’re not getting traffic to it you will not make any money. In this article we will talk about 2 ways to get traffic to your website.

Article Marketing

Getting traffic to your website is only half the battle, especially when you’re depending on sales as your primary source of income. When you get targeted traffic to your website, you increase your chance to make sales because your visitors are already interested (pre-sold), and you can do this using a number of ways.

One way to pre-sell your prospects is by using article marketing as a way to show your knowledge on a particular subject which would get them to your website. If you are selling a product or service, you can write a review on the subject and write about the benefits it provide and how it could also benefit them. This review should also talk about any drawbacks or disadvantages also. After all, this is a review and not exactly a sales pitch.

Forum Marketing

Forums are a great place to find targeted visitors to come to your website. Make sure that you are in a forum that is relevant to your particular niche. After you join a forum you have the privilege of setting up a signature file in which you can anchor text your chosen keywords to your website to receive maximum benefit.

The way you attract visitors is by answering questions you have knowledge in, positioning yourself as an authority figure on a particular subject. At the end of your response is where you would use your anchor text signature. You will receive best results by not sounding like a sales person, but only to give helpful and meaningful feedback.

These are two ways to help your work at home business attract targeted traffic to your website. There are dozens of other ways to help you market your home business online, but these two ways are very reliable and is easy on your marketing budget. The real strategy to using these two methods is to be consistent and after a while you will notice your traffic increasing. Although this traffic may be slower, the best part of it is that it is much more targeted.
